Moral lessons for the Jewelers
Gem identifier, the Jeweler, who follows these sixteen vows religiously enjoys all happiness and honor.

The Jeweler always keeps lotus feet of his guru in the heart that accomplish all of his works at every place. He, who sells fake gems as real, all planets (as per astrology) goes against him and gives him pain. He, who mixes imitation with real is not a Jeweler but a deceptive. He, who changes bunches of Basra pearls to manipulate weight in Chav becomes unhappy, deceased and looses his kids and wealth.

It is useless for a sinful person to be a jeweler who does not speak truth about cost and profit. Who lies offer is also a deceptive and looses his goodwill. Who changes after giving or taking deposit for a deal he looses his words and people laughs on him. One should not weigh less in sold gemstones. One should be judicious and not be sinful.

One should be diplomatic and clever to get others' secrets. One should understand the time and situation in get one's work done. One should not reveal secrets even to a bosom friend because it will lead to failure and one has to be a looser. One will regret for his foolishness.
One should not tell a real gemstone imitation in elite group (sabha? group/ meeting, court?), this will lead to dishonor. One should not speak much or boast himself in an elite group. One will loose his goal, interests and reputation by doing these.

One should be very diplomatic in speaking. It should be truth but pleasant to customers, court and king. One should not deceive and betray, it may profit him initially but everything will be lost at the end. One should leave all bad intentions, evils and ego to achieve ones goal and happiness. It will pay one honor in the world. One should not leave ones own belief, religion, spirituality and work. One should worship God and by doing that will get all earthly pleasures and liberation at the end.

Vanayatra: Visiting tribal schools in Rajasthan

Vanayatra is an integrated and essential part of FTS activities. Local bodies organize a trip to some "Ekal Vidyalaya" near to the place.

These trips are organized to have a first hand experience of activities en site. These vanayatras encourage and motivate FTS members and people at large to serve the tribal society.

Normally these are one day or even half day tours. These are like excursions we enjoyed in our student life. FTS do not expend for these trips. Instead these are contributory.

(FTS is an abbreviation for Friends of Tribal Society)

FTS, Jaipur is planning for a Vanayatra in near future. We will notify in this blog when a schedule will be prepared and finalyzed including date and time of visit, place, contribution etc.

Please inform us if you would like to join the trip.
Jyoti Kothari is recruited as convener of Vanayatra.

Shree Sumatinath Temple at Azimganj
Built by Nahar Family

Please click to view previous post about famous people........

Nahar Family:

Nahar family was a Zemindar family of Azimganj. The family has contributed a lot to the society, religion, academics and culture. They built Shri Sumatinath Temple in Azimganj. Nahar family also founded Kumar Singh Hall with a temple, community hall, library and museum in Kolkata near their residence at Indian mirror street. Rai Bahadoor Sri Manilal Nahar and one more person (I can not remember name) of this family had been featured in "Glimpses of Bengal", published in 1905.

Sri Puran Chand Nahar of this family was a great scholar. He is one of the academicians in India who laid the foundation to modern historical and archaeological research about Jainism. His collection is donated to Kolkata university and it is preserved there.

His brother Kesri Chand Nahar was a great patron of Indian classical music. He collected and published "Stavanavali" almost a century back. This is a great collection of Jain Bhajans with name of "Raag" and "Taal" printed with every Bhajan (Jain devotional song).

Bijoy Singh Nahar of this family entered into politics. He reached to the status of Home Minister and deputy Chief minister of West Bengal. He had been in the ministry of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy and Siddhartha Shankar Roy. Later on, he left Congress party with babu Jagjivan Ram to form Congress for democracy in 1977. When Congress for democracy was merged into Janata party, he became general secretary of Janata Party. He fought and won parliamentary election in 1977 from Kolkata.
He was a revolutionary Jain and edited and published "Tarun Jain", a monthly magazine for young Jains. He also adorned the post of Chairman, Bihar religious trust board, Government of Bihar.

Deep Singh Nahar of this family was a great photographer and had been worked as President, Bengal photographers association.

Ajit Singh Nahar of this family was a famous homoeopath and married to Smt. Kanak Sundari of famous Rai Badridas Bahadoor Mookim family.
