Anna Hazare asked questions PM and Rahul Gandhi on Lokpal bill


Anna Hazare today asked seven questions to Rahul Gandhi, Congress party general secretary and six questions to Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister Of India.

Anna is suffering sickness since a month and movement of team Anna also suffered from his illness. These questions again strengthen his movement to support Janlokpal bill.

Anna Hazare asked whether CBI should be under Central government. He also asked that why government is reluctant to free CBI. He added that whether government is afraid of CBI. He questioned Dr. Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi.

Anna Hazare asked why government will pay legal charges to fight against allegations charged on corrupt officials. He also asked why Lokpal does not have even an investigation agency. Anna has asked seven questions to Rahul Gandhi and six to the PM, India. He sent letters to both the leaders along with UP Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayavati, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

Anna Hazare letters brought hue and cry among political parties especially Indian National Congress. It is worth noted that elections are due in five states including UP, Uttarakhand and Punjab. Uttarakhand government has already passed strong Lokpal bill that is inline with Janlokpal bill. Team Anna is in the election field for canvasing against Lokpal bill of the government.

Anna Hazare broke his fast (Anshan) Wednesday evening in Mumbai

Anna Hazare, surprisingly broke his Anshan (Fast) December28, Wednesday evening at MMRDA ground, Mumbai. He fell sick during his Anshan and doctors advised him to break his fast. However, he denied breaking his Anshan yesterday. He took this decision after the Congress led UPA government succeeded in passing Lokpal bill in the Loksabha yesterday. Government failed to pass constitutional amendment.

The government will put the bill in Rajyasabha tomorrow for discussion and voting. Team Anna Hazare has been opposing government led Lokpal bill and demanding stronger Jan Lokpal since long time. Anna Hazare has opposed government moves.

Anna Hazare seriosly ill, denied breaking fast (Anshan)


Anna Hazare started his Anshan at MMRDA ground in Mumbai today, December 27, 2011 despite his illness. He has sat on Anshan (Fast) with his team members Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi et al to support Jan Lokpal bill and to oppose proposed Lokpal bill. Anna was suffering from fever since last few days. Temperature of his body increased during Anshan and reached to 102F. He is also suffering from lungs infection. Medical team checking Hazare declared his condition serious and requested to break his fast. Team Anna, Spiritual Guru Ravishankar requested him to break his Anshan. However, Anna denied to take any food.

Team of Doctors checked him up and injected medicines. They declared his physical condition serious. He may be moved to hospital tomorrow.

In between, government has passed Lokpal bill in Loksabha but failed to amend constitution. Congress led UPA government showed adamant attitude and have not incorporated suggestions of Anna Hazare (Jan Lokpal bill). Government also refused amendments proposed by the opposition parties.

Loksabha passed Lokpal bill, constitution amendment failed

 Government of India proposed Lokpal bill today in the floor of the lower house of Indian parliament. Government did not provide sufficient time for debate. Opposition parties demanded longer time for debating this very important bill. Government was adamant for voting on the bill today only.


 Loksabha passed Lokpal bill today. However, the ruling UPA denied to incorporate any suggestions from Anna Hazare and his civil society. Sushma Swaraj. leader of opposition in Loksabha, Yashwant Sinha, senior BJP leader and ex finance minister, Basudev Acharya, Lalu Prasad Yadav and several other leaders took part in the arguement along with congress leaders Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Shashi Tharoor and Kapil Sibbal.

Opposition parties moved several amendments but all failed. Government was seen very adamant in the floor. They had managed required number to pass their bill and to fail opposition led amendments. However, government itself brought three amendments to please its supporting parties. 

Rahul Gandhi, general secretary of Congress party wanted Lokpal as a constitutional body. BJP, CPI(M) and few other allies in NDA opposed constitutional amendment and it was failed. Pranab Mukherjee, leader of the house and finance minister of India blamed BJP for the failure of constitutional amendment. BJP, in reply, demanded resignation of the UPA government.

 Indian government will table Lokpal bill in the parliament on Thursday, December 22, 2011. Cabinet of ministers have approved the draft today, December 20. The cabinet have made few changes in the draft to bring Prime minister with certain conditions under Lokpal.  However, neither CBI nor grade 'C' employees are brought under Lokpal. The cabinet of ministers have agreed to bring grade 'C' employees under CVC.

Anna Hazare invited political leaders to discuss Janlokpal bill

Anna Hazare has invited leaders of all major political parties to discuss Janlokpal bill. He has invited BJP, CPI(M) and even the Congress party. He has sent invitation to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. It is worth mention that the Congress party had engaged in bitter arguments with Anna Hazare.

Anna Hazare has declared that he would seat for symbolic fast of a day on December 11, 2011 in Delhi, capital of India in support of Jan Lokpal bill. Anna is advocating for a strong Jan Lokpal bill since long time. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India has assured him to pass strong Lokpal bill in this winter session of parliament. The bill is still pending in the office of standing committee in Indian parliament. Hazare has expressed his doubt that the government would not pass the bill in the current winter session of the Indian parliament. He has announced that he would seat for Anshan (fast) for eight days from December 27 if the government don't pass strong Lokpal bill.
