Navratri begins Shraddh Paksh (Pitri Paksh) ended

Navratri (Navaratri, Navratra) begins from tomorrow, Friday, October 8, 2010. Fortnight long  Shraddh Paksh (Pitri Paksh) has ended today. Ashwin Krishna Amavasya, the last day of he Pitri Paksh is known as Mahalaya. Bengali people observe Mahalaya with great enthusiasm.

Hindu community paid homage to their ancestors during these days. Normally they do not organize any auspicious event during these days.

Navratri begins with joy. Hindu community celebrates this festival by worshiping Nav Durga. Durga Puja is the biggest festival in West Bengal state in India.

Annual program of Chandaprabhu Jain temple, Amber on Sunday, October 10, 2010

Annual program of Sri Chandaprabhu Jain temple, Amber will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2010. Nandishwar Dweep Pujan will be organized as usual in the morning followed by Sadharmi Vatsalya (Lunch). Large numbers of Jaipur Swetambar Jain people participate in this annual program popularly known as Amer Mela.

 Sthanakvasi, Terapanthi, Tapagachchh, Khartar Gachchh all sects of Swetambar Jain community join the Amer Mela. However, the program is solely organized by the Khartar Gachchh Sangh, Jaipur.

Amber Jain temple is one of the oldest temple in Jaipur. Sri Chandaprabhu Swami is the main deity of the temple along with two other Tirthankar idols.

Sri Jin Kushal Suri Dadabadi is situated opposite to the temple.

CWG Delhi 2010 and Opening ceremony of Commonwealth games

 Nineteenth Commonwealth games have already started in Delhi, India on October 3, 2010. The world watched the gala opening ceremony of CWG Delhi 2010 at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.

71 countries are participating in his mega sports event with about 5500 players. The event will continue up to October 14. India has hosted its biggest ever sports event at CWG Delhi, 2010.

Sharat Kamal Achanta will lead Indian Table Tennis Team for CWG Delhi 2010

New Delhi : Sharat Kamal Achanta will lead Indian Table Tennis team for Common Wealth Games starting from 3^rd October in Delhi. Sharat Kamal played exceptionally well in last Common Wealth Games in Melbourne. He won gold medal both at personal as well as at team level competition. However, Sharat got out very early in China Open this year. Still there is much expectation from Sharat Kamal for Common Wealth Games. Table Tennis Federation of India has declared team for Common Wealth Games. Team will comprise of five males and five females. In both categories two players are also kept reserved.

Teams are as follows:

Male – Sharat Kamal, A Amal Raj, Soumyadeep Roy, Subhajit Saha, Sourav Chakraborty

Reserved Players – Sanil Shetty , Abhishek Ravichandran

Female - Poulomi Ghatak, Madurika Patkar, K Shamini, Mouma Das, Mamta Prabhu

Reserved Players - Pooja Vijay Sahastrabudhe, Neha Agarwal

Commonwealth games have already started on October 3, 2010 and will continue up to October 14. Grand opening ceremony of the CWG at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium has been visited by the world. It has added credibility to India and Indian capabilities. President Pratibha Patil has declared the games open accompanied by Prince Charles who read out the message of Queen Elizabeth II.

71 countries are participating in this mega sports event.

Gala opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games, CWG Delhi 2010 News

 India has shown its capability and credibility in the gala opening ceremony of CWG 2010, on October 3, 2010 at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. More than 7000 artists participated in the cultural program which included dance, music, songs, Yoga and a journey by Indian Railways.

Commonwealth Games 2010, CWG Delhi news

 I am posting news about Commonwealth Games 2010, CWG Delhi regularly in Allvoices News. India has never organized such a big sports event before. The CWG is a bigger event than the Asian Games organized in India in 1951 and 1982.

71 Commonwealth nations are participating in this sports event including Australia, England, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan and of course India.
