Paush dashami (Parasnath janma Kalyanak) celebrated

 Sri Jain Swetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh celebrated Paush (Posh) dasami, Janma Kalyanak of Lord Parasnath with full enthusiasm. The Sangh organized Parshwanath Panch Kalyanak puja at Mohanbadi Adinath-Sanwalia Parasnath temple. This temple is established more than two centuries ago. The Puja was followed by Ksheer prasad.




A grand procession (Barghoda-Julush) started from Mohanbadi after Ksheer prasad that included an elephant, several horses and a band. Large numbers of devotees walk through the road. The procession reached to Sri Suparshwanath Jain temple (Panchayati Mandir, Dada) passing through Ramganj choupad, Badi Choupad, Johari Bazar. KGB ka rasta, Shivjiram Bhawan et al. Devotees offered their homage to the 23rd Tirthankar idol in the Palanquin (Palki). Jain devotees were carrying the Palanquin on their shoulders. They were singing devotional songs and dancing.

The procession ended at Panchayati temple and Arati was carried out.

Parasnath Jayanti, Paush Dashmi celebration, December 20

  Sri Jain Swetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh Jaipur will celebrate Parasnath Janma Kalyanak  on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Parshwanath panch Kalyanak Puja will be organized at Mohanbadi, Galta road, Jaipur starting from 12 noon. Refreshment (Prasad) will be served after Puja folowed by a procession (3.30 PM) from Mohanbadi to Panchayati Mandir, Dada, Gheewalon ka rasta.

Paush Dashmi celebration is an old tradition of Jaipur Swetambar Jain community and people participate in the procession with great enthusiasm. Procession will pass through Ramganj, Badi Choupad and  Johari Bazar. There will be Arati at Sri Suparshwanath Swami Temple (Panchayati Mandir) at about 5 PM.

Paush Dashmi Festival in Jaipur

Paush Dashmi is the birth date of Lord Parshwanath commonly known as Parasnath, 23rd Tithankar of Jain. Jain community all over India observe birth day of their Tirthankar with great enthusiasm.

 
Jain offer Puja in various temples. Ceremony was organized in Deraur Parasnath temple with a Puja. Vidhikarak Yashwant Golechha conducted Puja.  Puja was followed by a Sadharmi Vatsalya.

A Barghoda (Procession) is traditionally brought from Mohanbadi Sanwalia Parasnath Temple to Panchayati Mandir in Johri Bazar.

This video is about a traditional procession (Barghoda or Julush) from Mohanbadi to Suparshwanath Jain temple in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The procession starts from Mohanbadi, an old Jain temple and Dadabadi and progresses thorugh Ramganj and Manak Choupad to Johari Bazar. It enters in to the streets of Johri Bazar and reach Suparshwanath Jain temple in Dada, Gheewalon Ka Rasta via Vichakshan Bhawan.
People welcome the procession there and worship Lord Parshwanath (Parasnath) with Bhajan, Arati and Mangal Dipak.
