Malpura photographs by Lilian Haidar, New York

Lilian Haidar, professional photographer and filmmaker from New York, US visited Malpura Dadabadi with Jyoti Kothari, Secretary, Sri Jain Swetambar Khartar Gachchh Sangh where she took large number of photographs. She also made film of Atharah Abhishek Pooja performed at temple and Dadabadi on January 5.

Lilian Haidar is visiting Jaipur along with Professor Brian Brazeal, California. Few of her Malpura photographs are posted below.

We are in process of creating a new web site about Jain religion, philosophy, society, travel, arts and culture, education, pilgrimage, heritage, history, organizations, business, jobs, food etc. we are adding more topics to the list.We will try to load information as much as possible.

The website will content exhaustive information about Jain, Jain society and Jainism (anything and everything) irrespective of sects that means we will include information of Shwetambar, Digambar et al.It can also be seen as a Jain portal.

Puja on the auspieces of Shikhar Chand Pungalia

 Renowned Jeweler Shikhar Chand Pungalia expired on May 01, 2010.  His family offered "Antaray Karma Nivaran Puja" today at Pungalia temple, station road, Jaipur. Pungalia temple was built by the ancestors opf late Sri Shikhar Chand Pungalia a century back.

It is to be worth noted that he was the proprietor of "Sobhagmul Gokulchand". His son Shirish Pugalia is in diamond business and living in Mumbai.

Pungalia temple anniversary in Jaipur

Pungalia temple situated near Railway station, Jaipur is a century old temple built by the Pungalia family. This temple is dedicated to the main deity Rishabhdev alias Adinath, the first Tirthankar. The Jain temple has beautiful wall paintings worth visit. The temple is built with environment friendly green way.

There is a Dadabadi inside the temple campus along with a Dharmashala. The Pungalia family organize Satraha Bhedi Puja every year on the eve of anniversary of the temple. Sri Shantichand Vimalchand Padamchand Pungalia family hosted anniversary program this year on January 27, 2010.

Jagdish Sharma, a renowned Indian classical singer sang the Puja. Jain Vidhikarak Yashwant Golechha, Manakchand Golechha and Jyoti Kothari accompanied Jagdish Sharma in singing the classical devotional songs of सत्रह भेदी पूजा. Premchand Shrishrimal was the Vidhikarak of the Puja.Hundreds of devotees took part in this devotional program.

Pungalia family hosted for tea and snacks after completion of the program.

Paush Dashmi Festival in Jaipur

Paush Dashmi is the birth date of Lord Parshwanath commonly known as Parasnath, 23rd Tithankar of Jain. Jain community all over India observe birth day of their Tirthankar with great enthusiasm.

 
Jain offer Puja in various temples. Ceremony was organized in Deraur Parasnath temple with a Puja. Vidhikarak Yashwant Golechha conducted Puja.  Puja was followed by a Sadharmi Vatsalya.

A Barghoda (Procession) is traditionally brought from Mohanbadi Sanwalia Parasnath Temple to Panchayati Mandir in Johri Bazar.

This video is about a traditional procession (Barghoda or Julush) from Mohanbadi to Suparshwanath Jain temple in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The procession starts from Mohanbadi, an old Jain temple and Dadabadi and progresses thorugh Ramganj and Manak Choupad to Johari Bazar. It enters in to the streets of Johri Bazar and reach Suparshwanath Jain temple in Dada, Gheewalon Ka Rasta via Vichakshan Bhawan.
People welcome the procession there and worship Lord Parshwanath (Parasnath) with Bhajan, Arati and Mangal Dipak.
