A three days Jain education camp (Swadhyay Shivir) was organized at Kushal Bhawan in Bikaner, Rajasthan between October 23 to 26, 2010.
The camp was organized in the auspices of Jain Nun Sadhwi Kalpalata Sri Ji etc. Sadhwi Kalpalata Sri ji is principle disciple of late Sadhwi Hemprabha Sri Ji. The educational camp ran in three shifts morning, afternoon and night. Approximately fifty gentlemen and ladies participated as students in this camp.
Jyoti Kothari, Jaipur led and taught Jainism through out the educational camp (Swadhyay Shivir).

Famous Shaharwali people and family: Puranchand Shamsukha
Shamsukha family is one of the most famous Shaharwali family from Azimganj. They were migrated from Bikaner, Rajasthan to Azimganj. Puranchand Shamsukha (1882-1967), S/O Mehtabchand and grand son of Sangram Singh was a renowned scholar of Jainism. He had been in service to Maharaj Bahadur Singh Dugar at his early age and later on he served Nahata family of Jiaganj.
Renowned Bengali story writer Dakshinaranjan Mitra Mazumdar (Thakurmar Jhuli fame) was his close friend. Puran Chand Shamsukha wrote several books on Jainism in Bengali language such as "Jaino Dharmer Parichay", "Jain Tirthankar Mahavira", "Jaino Darshaner Ruprekha" etc. He also translated Jain Agam "Uttaradhyana Sutra" which was published by Calcutta University.
Some of his articles were published in 'Asia' magazine, Bangkok.
Renowned linguist and Vice Chancelor of Calcutta university, Dr. Suniti Chatterjee, Dr. Kalidas Nag and Bijoy Singh Nahar were among the editors of "Puranchand Shamsukha abinandan Grantha".
Rishabhchand Shamsukha (1900-1970), his eldest son was also a scholar and meditator. He established "Indian silk house" a famous Saree shop at college street in 1924 for livelihood of his family and left for "Sri Aurobindo ashram", Pondichery at the age of only 31. He lived their rest of his life.
He has written few books about Rishi Aurobindo and his doctrine.

The last one was written inspired by the Mother herself.
Parichand Kothari and Umirchand Kothari were his close friends who also followed path of Sri Aurobindo inspired by him.
Sumatichand Shamsukha, another son of Puranchand Shamsukha was a social server. He adorned the seat of secretary Murshidabad Sangh and Jain Bhawan, Kolkata.

Old Jain idols in Bikaner brought out for Darshan and Puja

Old Jain idols kept underground for centuries at Chinatamani Parasnath temple in Bikaner, Rajasthan are brought out for Darshan and Puja. The temple trustees have decided to bring all these 1100 Prachin Jain Tirthankara Pratima for public viewing and worship.
Most of these Jain idols are Panch Tirthi and made of Panch Dhatu. Some of these idols are of Marble and one is of rock crystal (Sfatik Ratna). These idols were kept underground since Mogul period to save them from Muslim invaders.
Bikaner Jain Samaj has organized Dasanhika Mahotsava to celebrate this event between January 31 and February 10, 2010. Thousands of devotees from all over India and overseas have been coming to visit, view and worship those old idols.
Bikaner is a major Jain district with 35 Jain temples. Chintamani Parasnath, Bhanda Shah, Neminath and Adinath temples are the most famous Jain temples in Bikaner.

2. Taj Bahadoor Singh Dugar was married to daughter of Seth Bhuramal Surana of Jaipur and Badindrapat Singh Dugar to grand daughter of Bhuramal Surana and daughter of Rajmal Surana. Bhuramal Rajmal Surana family is renowned worldwide for Kundan Jadau Meena Jewelry.
3. Charitra Kumar Singh Nowlakha was married in renowned Rampuria family of Bikaner, Rajasthan. Haweli of Rampuria's in Bikaner is a tourist place. Kamal Singh rampuria of the family is the present President of Sammet Shikhar Tirth.
4. Darshan Kumar Nowlakha was married in famous Shah family and his brother Gyan Kumar Nowlakha in Seth Ratanlal Phophalia family. Ratanlal Phophalia was a renowned Jeweler and Mentor of Rajroop Tank, Dean of Jaipur gem dealers.
5. Dev Kumar Singhi was married in famous Baid family of "Gulab Niwas" in Jaipur.
