New Jain website

We are in process of creating a new web site about Jain religion, philosophy, society, travel, arts and culture, education, pilgrimage, heritage, history, organizations, business, jobs, food etc. we are adding more topics to the list.We will try to load information as much as possible.

The website will content exhaustive information about Jain, Jain society and Jainism (anything and everything) irrespective of sects that means we will include information of Shwetambar, Digambar et al.It can also be seen as a Jain portal.

Old Jain idols in Bikaner brought out for Darshan and Puja

Old Jain idols kept underground for centuries at Chinatamani Parasnath temple in Bikaner, Rajasthan are brought out for Darshan and Puja. The temple trustees have decided to bring all these 1100 Prachin Jain Tirthankara Pratima for public viewing and worship.

Most of these Jain idols are Panch Tirthi and made of Panch Dhatu. Some of these idols are of Marble and one is of rock crystal (Sfatik Ratna). These idols were kept underground since Mogul period to save them from Muslim invaders.

Bikaner Jain Samaj has organized Dasanhika Mahotsava to celebrate this event between January 31 and February 10, 2010. Thousands of devotees from all over India and overseas have been coming to visit, view and worship those old idols.

Bikaner is a major Jain district with 35 Jain temples. Chintamani Parasnath, Bhanda Shah, Neminath and Adinath temples are the most famous Jain temples in Bikaner.
