Indian government will table Lokpal bill in the parliament Thursday

Indian government will table Lokpal bill in the parliament on Thursday, December 22, 2011. Cabinet of ministers have approved the draft today, December 20. The cabinet have made few changes in the draft to bring Prime minister with certain conditions under Lokpal.  However, neither CBI nor grade 'C' employees are brought under Lokpal. The cabinet of ministers have agreed to bring grade 'C' employees under CVC.

The parliament will debate over the proposed Lokpal bill to pass it.  Winter session of the parliament is extended for three days for the purpose. 


The cabinet does not include most of the provisions suggested by team Anna.

Anna Hazare is fighting for Janlokpal bill since several months. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India assured Anna to bring strong Lokpal bill. Hazare broke his fast after the assurance. However, government has failed to keep the promise and it is obvious that Anna will start his fast from December 27.

Cabinet of ministers approved food security bill

 Cabinet of ministers have approved National food security bill in India. The bill will cover and benefit seventy five percent or three fourth of Indian rural and fifty percent or half of Indian urban population. The National food security bill will guarantee food security to 750 million (75Crore) Indian.

Indian government will provide 7 KG of food grains per person per month in the BPL (Below poverty level) category. The government will sell rice @ Rs. 3, Wheat @Rs.2 and other grains @ Re.1 per KG to this category.

The government has decided to supply 3 KG food grains to the category above poverty level at half the price of supported price. The whole project will cost Rs. 300 B to the Indian government.


Opposition parties criticized that the food security bill has been passed in a hassle to divert attention from Lokpal bill.

Parshwanath panch Kalyanak Puja will be organized at Mohanbadi, Galta road, Jaipur starting from 12 noon. Refreshment (Prasad) will be served after Puja folowed by a procession (3.30 PM) from Mohanbadi to Panchayati Mandir, Dada, Gheewalon ka rasta.

Paush Dashmi celebration is an old tradition of Jaipur Swetambar Jain community and people participate in the procession with great enthusiasm. Procession will pass through Ramganj, Badi Choupad and  Johari Bazar. There will be Arati at Sri Suparshwanath Swami Temple (Panchayati Mandir) at about 5 PM.

Rahul Gandhi behind chnging draft of Lokpal bill: Anna Hazare

Anna Hazare told that it is suspected that Rahul Gandhi is the man behind changing draft of Lokpal bill. He told that Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime minister of India has assured him of a strong Lokpal bill that would have main features of Janlokpal bill. However, standing committee of Indian parliament has changed the draft and presented draft is not acceptable. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Chairman, standing committee has handed over the Lokpal bill draft to Rajyasabha deputy chairman.

He added that Rahul Gandhi is a young leader and Prime ministerial candidate for Congress party. Doing such things is not appropriate for him. In the mean time media has criticized Rahul Gandhi for absenting from Delhi during Anna Anshan. He is escaping from Hazare according to news media. Rahul Gandhi has left for Lucknow for election campaign.

Anna Hazare will seat for one day symbolic "Anshan" (Fast) at Jantar Mantar, Delhi on December 11, 2011, Sunday against the draft bill and to support strong Lokpal bill (Janlokpal).

Leaders of various opposition parties will join the debate on Janlokpal bill at Jantar Mantar. Sonia Gandhi or any other congress party leader refused to join the debate despite invitation of Anna Hazare.

Anna Hazare invited political leaders to discuss Janlokpal bill

Anna Hazare has invited leaders of all major political parties to discuss Janlokpal bill. He has invited BJP, CPI(M) and even the Congress party. He has sent invitation to Congress president Sonia Gandhi. It is worth mention that the Congress party had engaged in bitter arguments with Anna Hazare.

Anna Hazare has declared that he would seat for symbolic fast of a day on December 11, 2011 in Delhi, capital of India in support of Jan Lokpal bill. Anna is advocating for a strong Jan Lokpal bill since long time. Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India has assured him to pass strong Lokpal bill in this winter session of parliament. The bill is still pending in the office of standing committee in Indian parliament. Hazare has expressed his doubt that the government would not pass the bill in the current winter session of the Indian parliament. He has announced that he would seat for Anshan (fast) for eight days from December 27 if the government don't pass strong Lokpal bill.
